Introduction

Over the past 2-3 years, I've spent 950 hours on this Satisfactory world. With 1.0 about to come out, and the game struggling to cope with everything I've built, I've decided to finish with this world. I wanted to take the opportunity to show off what I've achieved so hopefully it can help you to build even better things.

Showcase Video

I spent around 50 hours creating a video to show off the world in only 8 minutes. It's a quick tour to give a flavour of the world as a whole.

Alternatively, if you don't have 8 minutes to spare, here's a 2 minute version.

Other Videos

The other videos are much less edited than the above showcase videos and are designed to be watched afterwards if you're interested in specific things. All the videos are in a playlist on YouTube.

3 Race Tracks and a Roller Coaster

Full uncut footage of all 3 race tracks as well as the roller coaster. The race tracks are done in a cool mario kart style! Watch the video.

All Roads Tour

A drive around my whole world in only 4 clips. Warning: video is 2 and a half hours long! Watch the video.

All Railway Tour

A single drive around my whole world with no cuts, covering nearly all the bits of rail. Only 3 crashes! Only 1 hour 18 minutes so comparitively short as well... Watch the video.

SkyTrain

Full footage of all lines in SkyTrain, the metro network in Desert City. Watch the video.

Tube & Belts

A tour around my hyper tube network (The Tube) and some conveyor belts (including SkyBelt in Desert City). Watch the video.

Viewpoints [1 hour]

If you want to watch 1 hour of continuous footage from a fixed angle, then I've done it for 4 angles in this playlist.

World File

Looking at screenshots is great, watching a video is better, but nothing beats hopping in a car and exploring the world yourself! If you own the game and have a PC that can run it, I would highly recommend downloading the world file and exploring it at your own pace. Feel free to check back at this article for advice over how to best explore the world and ensure you don't miss anything.

Download World File

When you get in, I'd suggest following the signs marked "new to this world?". This will bring you to a room with my inventory in it so you can have some items to get started!

Please note that this save file has not been opened in 1.0. You are welcome to open it in 1.0 but please expect factories to break as this save file has not been designed for 1.0. If you are able to obtain a copy of the game in Update 8 (just before 1.0), then you can load the save file in this version.

Contents

Take a look at the areas on offer and see what you want to check out! Modes of transport in bold are particularly recommended for exploration.

Desert City

Description

Desert City is the first city and the one I have spent significantly more time in than any other. Without an initial plan, everything feels very real as it has just developed over time. There's various different parts of the city with different feels to them so it's worth exploring all around.

Getting Around

Driving is the recommended way to explore the city as it will get you everywhere and it's easy to stop and take a look around. SkyTrain (the metro) is also great because you get nice views from above the city. If you don't have a vehicle, using the conveyor belts with a jetpack is the fastest mode of transport as you can fly right to where you want to be.

There's a few vehicles parked near the hub - I'd recommend taking one of the explorers. If you're going round the ring road or leaving the city on a motorway then feel free to take the cybertruck but be careful as it's very hard to drive!

Things to See

Here's a couple things I think you should see but there's lots more! I would recommend driving around at random first before consulting this list.

Cool Buildings

What? Large buildings with interesting designs
Where? Directly North from the City Centre / The Dump. East from the Computer Factory.

Computer Factory

What? A factory producing 2.5/min, made unique by the fact that you can drive all the way around it. Also exports supercomputers and high speed connectors.
Where? As the second largest building in the city, it should be pretty noticeable. You can get there by continuing North along the A1 from the Hub Area.

Space Elevator Factory

What? A huge factory importing lots of different resources to produce space elevator parts. Lots of spare capacity for future tiers.
Where? If you can't see the huge elevator extending infinitely into space, you need to go to Specsavers!

Storage Room

What? A single room containing 32 storage containers with lots of items you can stock up on.
Where? North-West of the Skyscraper (the tall concrete building), accessed from the roundabout on the A2.

Multi-Storey Car Park

What? It's a multi-storey car park. Maybe the more important question is why...
Where? North of the colourful houses in the suburbs (accessed from the dual carriageway running beneath it)

500 Hours Celebration

What? To celebrate reaching 500 hours, I built an area where the roads are in the shape of a 500.
Where? The very North of the city. Just keep going North and you'll probably get there (but don't join the M1).

The Tube

What? High-speed point-to-point transportation between key hubs. Only go on this if you're ready to leave the city!
Where? By the Hub (the big red building)

Spaghetti Junction

What? Simultaneously the best and worst junction you've ever seen. Yes, the strategy was "just one more slip road". Also, consider taking a lap of the ring road while you're at it.
Where? On the South of the city, connecting the M1, A1 and the Ring Road.

Suburbs

What? Lots of nice colourful houses.
Where? On the East of the city.

Northern Coal

What? A nice little coal power plant hidden away.
Where? A nice tube ride out on line 2 northbound.

Crystal

What? A factory producing silica and quartz crystals with a unique compartmentalised design on the inside.
Where? South along the A1 from Spaghetti Junction.

Refinery

What? A huge refinery and major refueling point for all the trucks in the city.
Where? Top level is accessed from the M2, bottom level is accessed from the A2.

Grass City

Description

Grass City is a major project started around half way through the world. It is deliberately floating in the air, giving an opportunity to create a huge grid system with no interruption from the terrain and plenty of opportunities to build underground. The roads are wide and create free flowing traffic by only intersecting at roundabouts, removing the need to ever do right turns across a main carriageway. Trains are also standard in the middle of all roads, along with belts and on-street parking.

Getting Around

While short journeys can take a long time due to lots of banned turns, a car is the most fun way of getting around the city. However if you're looking for speed, simply using the conveyor belts is probably the fastest. Trains also go down all of the main roads although they don't generally go into the blocks and there isn't usually any parking. You can also try using the cybertruck to go really fast, although be careful you don't crash!

Navigation is made easy with the block numbers. Once you know the block you need to get to, you can consult the signs found at each roundabout to go towards the block you need.

Sidenote: If you're interested in following the speed limits, it's 70 on the main roads, 50 on the 3-foundation wide roads, 30 on the 2-foundation wide roads, and the ring road is a motorway hence unrestricted. Look out for signs if you need a reminder!

Things to See

Skyscraper

What? A 500m high building with views over the whole city at various levels. Contains a storage room with a few resources available.
Where? Block <C3>

Rollercoaster

What? While the main route takes 3m50s, there's also some diversions to go your own route around this huge scenic train route.
Where? Block <C4>

Factory Cart Racing

What? A race track, for factory carts! Mostly underground in a circular tunnel dodging various obstacles along the way.
Where? Block <B3>

Race Track

What? A large race track designed for the explorer, with 5 different laps that can be used in a modular fashion. Some are underground, some are overground, and most require a lot of precision driving!
Where? Block <B2>

Bus Building

What? It's a building shaped like a bus! Idk it looks quite cool I think

Where? Block <A2>

Other Buildings

What? This city provided an opportunity to experiment with weird building types so enjoy taking a look around!
Where? Everywhere! The pictured building can be found in <D2>

Rocky Desert

Description

Rocky Desert, often shortened to "Rocky D" on the signs, has a few large buildings which are more spaced out. The floor is not covered with foundations, and instead things blend into the natural environment more.

Getting Around

While you can get nearby with a car, you cannot get all the way to most of the factories by car. The area was deliberately designed for trains only to give it a much different feel to the other areas. However, for exploration you'll find the conveyor belts in the middle of the train tracks to be the quickest and easiest mode of transport provided you have a jetpack equipped.

Things to See

All of the buildings!

Aluminium Factory

What? A factory producing aluminium casings and aluminium sheets
Where? Just across from the tube station

Computer Factory

What? A factory producing 7.5 computers per minute, because the one in desert city wasn't quite enough
Where? Between aluminium and RCU factories

Train Stations (for computers)

What? A few train stations for the computer factory because the design of the factory itself doesn't allow space for train stations...
Where? Next to the computer factory

RCU Factory

What? An entire fancy building for a single manufacturer (because that was enough...)
Where? Close to the west coast

Uranium Fuel Rods

What? A big factory producing 2.95 uranium fuel rods per minute (a few too many but oh well...)
Where? North of the city, on the M1.

Pink Forest

Description

As the most central biome, this provided an ideal location for a central sorting facility for train routes, which occupies much of the space. A much later addition was a large race track designed for the cybertruck which can reach super fast speeds.

Getting Around

You can get here by car, train or tube but will soon want to park up and take a look around on foot as there's lots of one-way systems to optimise traffic flow.

Things to See

The central sorting facility and the race track! For the central sorting facility I'd recommend finding your way down below where all the production machines are as well as climbing the tower up top for panoramic views of the whole world. For the race track, my highscore for all 3 laps (from the further back start line) is 7:47 so see if you can beat that!

Other Areas

Description

There's a few more things dotted around the map!

Getting Around

If you're going long distances you'll generally be best driving around in a train, although some of these destinations are also accessible by car or conveyor belt.

Things to See

Nuclear Power Station

What? A nuclear power station in a waterfall. Exports uranium and imports fuel rods from the radioactive interchange located far away (where the waste is stored).
Where? Just off the M1 between Desert City and Grass City (no access from the A1, despite being closer).

Blue Crater

What? A big refinery producing most of the fuel supply for all of the trucks in the whole world. Exports fuel exclusively in both packaged and liquid forms.
Where? The South-East corner of the world. Can be accessed by rail and road from the M1.

West Coast

What? A refinery particularly focused on exporting plastic. Don't forget to check out the cool rail spiral!
Where? On the South-West of the world, can be accessed from the M1.

Conclusion

I hope you enjoyed! If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on YouTube, Reddit, Email etc.
