Introduction
If you've seen my Satisfactory world and thought "that looks cool", but you're wondering how the factories actually work, then this is for you! I'm going to go over every item and mention all the factories that produce that item, and how all the logistics fit together.
My world follows a modular layout, meaning it is divided into lots of separate factories with inputs and outputs. I am not mentioning any resources produced along the way, only those output from a factory. Different factories are joined together with trucks and trains and move resources between them. The production rate of a factory per minute assumes that the inputs are perfectly satisfied. Resources like ore and ingots that are exclusively used to produce more complex parts are not mentioned here.
Note: While this world was done before 1.0, these screenshots are taken after the 1.0 release, so you may see some factories no longer working.
Contents
Tier 0
Starter Iron Factory
Inputs: Iron Ore (1 normal node)
Outputs: Iron Plates, Iron Rods, Screws, Reinforced Iron Plates
My first factory produces the basics from a single nearby iron node. It has since been covered over with concrete but the original layout has been preserved!
Iron for Storage
Inputs: Iron Ore (1 pure node)
Outputs: Iron Plates, Iron Rods
The iron plates and rods used in the storage facility are produced by a tiny little factory hidden here under the A2.
Wire & Cables for Storage
Inputs: Copper Ore (2 normal nodes)
Outputs: Wire, Cable
Early copper products for storage are produced by some little factories lying around to the north of the building. Before the storage facility, these were produced by temporary constructors set up as demand was low.
Concrete
Concrete has been produced by many different little factories to satisfy very high demand. Most of the concrete comes from the nodes just North of the storage facility as they feed straight into it. If more is needed, there's a few more nodes dotted around. In Grass City, concrete is produced locally.
Tier 1
There aren't any new items introduced in tier 1, only buildables.
